Salsa Intermediate 2 – Copa – Detailed explanation

For a long time Copa’s were not used in dancing on 1. The Copa was mainly used in dancing On2, also reffered to as New York Salsa or Mambo. Instead of the Copa people were mainly using the Enchufa or Enchufle instead of the Copa.

The Copa contains 2 main elements: The Enchufa and the Cross Body Inside Turn (based on the principles of the Cross Body Lead).

Tips:
* Be sure to step back when initiating the Copa
* Build tension when stepping back
* Keep the arms slightly bend to get more tension
* Stop the lady on the 3rd count and start building up pressure to sent her back
