All right very key element to the Jazz technique is the isolations. I´m going to teach you how to isolate three parts of your body right now: the head, the shoulders and the hips. Start in neutral, then you go in first, open, second, open, nice deep plié, that’s your stance to start these isolations. Starting with the head roll, you go down, to the right, all the way back, to the left and down. Then reverse it left all the way up, then right, then down, and up. Then the shoulders I like to start with them both going simultaneously, going forward and back, forward and back, forward and back. Good then just reverse that, really just relax the arms and let those shoulders move. Then I alternate it rolling two, three, four, then a little faster two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight; reverse two, three, four and faster two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Hip isolations broken down, side, back, side, front, forward and around and roll, reverse it side, back, side, forward, then you roll it around and you are rolling it around, and you are really trying to just isolate different body parts. All right starting out in your neutral, open at first, heels out, second, heels out, deep plié and head roll reverse, shoulders together reverse, alternate faster, forward. Now hips, side, back, side, front and roll, side, back, side, front and roll; one more time, side, back, side, front and roll, side, back, side, front and roll. Nice work everybody. Isolations feel really good on your body and those are the Jazz isolations.
