Dave Leduc’s Lethwei Yay 💪 🇲🇲 (warrior dance)

Compilation of Dave Leduc’s traditional Lethwei warrior Dance called Lethwei Yay.

Dave: “A fan sent me this compilation, I love the traditional music at the beginning. When I hear it, it’s like a trigger and makes me want to fight!😤

For everyone new to my Lethwei army, there’s an important distinction to know between the #LethweiYay and the #LekkhaMoun 💪🏼🇲🇲
The clapping gesture is called the Lekkha Moun and is traditionally done by Lethwei fighters to challenge their opponents with honor and courage! It comes from the birds of prey and mimics the clapping of the wings. It’s done by clapping 3 times on your elbow. Meaning “Let’s get it on! Let’s fight!”

The Lethwei Yay is the fight dance ritual. “Yay” simply means dance in Burmese language. It is done before the fight to showcase your skills and experience. It is also performed at the end of the fight as a victory dance or by both fighters in case of a draw in traditional rules..
The more fluid the Yay is, the more skilled a fighter is deemed to be. Every Yay is different and you can add your twist, you make it your own, same as in Lethwei, there is no box, simply pure striking.
Lethwei is the ultimate test for strikers, to come and compete in the most permissive stand-up combat art.”
