Taekkyon is a sport that systematically developed the primitive martial arts that were performed naturally in the human evolution process.
In any situation, Taekkyon has a rule that one never injured the opponent or damaged the clothes. And this spirit calls ‘Co-existence and Co-prosperity’
Taekkyon registered as Korean Important Intangible Cultural Heritage in 1983 and designated as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in UNESCO in 2011. Currently, Taekkyon is an official discipline in the national games of Korea.
