Sitkari Breath; You’re So CooL!

June 4th and already feeling the Sun’s intensity and the elevated temperature changes as we move toward Summer Solstice. This morning I had a quiet brainstorm session and suddenly thought why not do a “series” of Epiphanies and Elaborations; Simple but maybe not commonplace perfunctory treasures that can become habits of wellness!
This is the First in a series ~*~
A Pranayama known as Sitkari breath. A practice to aid the reduction of heat building up in the body through the summer month. A thought process being, why not get started early in implementing this personal practice and understanding the benefits. It is most likely one of the benefits we never understand if we do not practice it, or if we do we do not understand until we stop. Start now and keep heat from accumulating in the body. A couple of reasons to do this are to help prevent congestion from building in the body, to help keep the emotions sensible and stable so as to not become easily angered and/or feel irritable, and to balance the endocrine system and build vitality. If you have ever felt the heat ZAP your energy, this is for you. Be sure to take in air that is neither to cool or to hot and if so this practice should not aggravate lungs or prevalent conditions that a general population has been dealt.

Relax and just ignore your thoughts that come thru that might be something like…
Am I doing this right?
Is this doing anything?
Why am I doing this again?
What’s a diaphragm?
How do I spell Sitkari?
My teeth are clenched too tightly together!
How far do I open my lips?
Is my hissing sound too loud or too quiet?
I like this!
And so on and so on…

Namaste, Bobi
